Bill and Taimi Gorman are graduates of WWU, and have lived in Bellingham since the 1970’s. They have significant ties here, with many friends and family nearby. They are well known in the local business and non-profit community and have long-time connections newcomers don’t have. They approach consulting with different styles, finding a path to assist each organization with the most appropriate method. Their combined experience offers a formidable skill set.

Taimi Dunn Gorman

With over 35 years-experience as a business owner, Taimi has extensive knowledge in marketing, management, business consulting, public relations, media relations, restaurant ownership, merchant group functions, and retail management. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with small business owners.  She learned advertising skills managing a shopping mall.  Taimi co-founded the legendary Colophon Café in Fairhaven and has been a partner in several successful restaurants.  Her marketing instincts propelled her Doggie Diner to international fame in 2000 as the first American restaurant for dogs and people. 

Taimi taught retail merchandising, ad design and customer service at Whatcom Community College and Public Relations at WWU.  She has written dozens of business and marketing articles for numerous publications.  She served over 20 years on the Fairhaven Association Board handling public relations and marketing for the successful historical business district and has advised over 120 businesses as a Marketing/Public Relations Consultant at Gorman Publicity.  With significant expertise in small business management, retail and restaurant businesses and merchant groups, Taimi hones quickly in to find solutions.  She provides clients with the resources, advice and planning designed to improve business performance and efficiency.

Bill Gorman

Bill is an experienced leadership consultant, and effective management and sales coach.  As manager of Bellingham’s Downtown City Center Development Authority in 1986, he helped downtown businesses face the challenge of the opening of Bellis Fair mall, then created his own advertising agency.  As Local Sales Manager for Comcast Spotlight cable advertising, Bill spent 25-years gaining significant sales coaching experience.  Most recently, he spent four years as a public relations consultant with the Lummi Indian Business Council during their development of new business projects.

Bill has volunteered with many non-profit boards and political campaigns, helping them grow their revenue, solving internal communication issues, and assisting with goal setting.  He currently serves on the Bellingham Police Department’s Citizen Advisory Board and is past president of Bellingham Bay Rotary.  Bill is a great listener and excellent advisor with a laid-back style, who offers effective insights and long-term assistance with interpersonal communication, business styles and sales coaching.
